All of us are attending more Online meetings on Zoom, GoToMeeting and other platforms. For some, attending these meetings without any instructions or guidelines for looking professional are a concern. Here are 4 tips to help you in this area.
Make sure your camera shows your whole face. You may have to adjust your chair or computer to make this work.
Make sure your background is simple and doesn't have any distractions. Trust me, other attendees will notice.
If you are using a virtual background, use something simple and not too busy. Tiger King, Star Wars and others may not be a good choice.
Dress appropriately and completely. Don't be the guy who leaves his pants off and spills hot coffee in his lap halfway through the meeting. Save that Grateful Dead t-shirt for another time. This a business meeting.
Follow these simple tips and you'll look like a Zoom Meeting pro. And if you find them too challenging, do the other attendees a big favor and turn off your video feed.
